Terms of service

Updated on 2026/10/15

1. Operator and scope

Packet (pckt.sh) is operated by PCKT, LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, United States ("Packet", "we", "us"). You can contact us at contact@pckt.sh.

These terms apply to your access to and use of the website, dashboard, APIs, datasets, documentation, and any related service we make available.

2. Acceptance

By using the service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you use the service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Service description

Packet provides technical infrastructure and data-access tooling designed to help users retrieve and process public or otherwise authorized web data.

We provide the service on a best-effort basis. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not offer a service level agreement or guaranteed uptime.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features when needed for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or product changes.

4. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Packet complies with all applicable laws and obligations, including:

  • the laws of your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of the data source;
  • the terms, robots policies, and technical access rules of the target service;
  • intellectual property, database, privacy, and data-protection laws, including the GDPR where applicable.

You must only use Packet where you have a lawful basis to access, process, and store the data involved.

5. Prohibited use

You must not use Packet to:

  • overload, disrupt, or attack any system, including through DDoS activity;
  • bypass rate limits, authentication, anti-abuse controls, or access restrictions;
  • access government, military, or critical infrastructure without explicit authorization;
  • collect personal data at scale without a lawful basis;
  • facilitate fraud, malware distribution, spam, or other illegal activity;
  • process data in a way that violates the rights of individuals or organizations.

6. Accounts and security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account.

You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or any security incident affecting your account.

7. Fees, billing, and refunds

If you subscribe to a paid plan or purchase credits, the applicable price, taxes, and billing terms are shown before checkout or in the relevant order flow.

Refunds are only available where required by mandatory law or where we have expressly agreed to a refund or credit policy for a specific service. If a Packet-hosted endpoint fails because of a core platform issue for more than 7 consecutive days, you may request a pro-rated credit or refund for the affected period, subject to review.

8. Intellectual property

Packet and its related branding, software, documentation, and content remain our property or the property of our licensors.

You keep ownership of the content you submit, but you grant us the rights needed to host, process, and display that content for the purpose of providing the service.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by French law, Packet is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits, revenue, opportunities, or data, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable mandatory law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts, without affecting mandatory consumer or data-protection protections that apply to you.
